The article describes the circumstances in which the Maribor professional photographers found themselves after the First World War and mentions those who in the inter-war period occurred most frequently. It gives encounters of their work, their attitude toward their clients and describes occasions when Mariborians came to their studios. A closer look is given to the studios and the work of these professional photographers, including advertisements in newspapers and photographic exhibitions. The contribution ends with some biographical data of each of the eight most significant Maribor professional photographers from the studied period.
