On Slovenian territory, particularly in Styria, Carniola and to a lesser extent in other regions, until 1918, alongside with the German militant organisations, the Deutscher Schulverein society operated, organising kindergartens, primary schools, establishing its affiliates technically for the preservation of the maternal language, but in fact, to a great exent for the Germanisation of the Slovenian population, within the entirely Slovenian ethnic territory. The activity of Schulverien was watchfully followed by Slovenski Branik, which was published in Ljubljana during 1908 - 1914. In the contribution, Schulverein's collected reports in the Slovenski Branik are considered by the region of activity of the organisation, together with reactions to the activity.
