The article treats the initial endeavours of Slovene theachers in providing the appropriate books lor the young in Slovenia. The books would have been published in collections. In the frame of their own organization, publishing houses and associations teachers organized the so called "libraries for the young". Encouraged by these first book-collections many teachers began to write by themselves and some of them became well recognized juvenile writers.
