Description
Film archival materials can be one of the most attractive reflections of life in the past, in the 20th century and further. The Slovene Film Archives at the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia keeps films on various carriers, from filmstrips to electronic digital records, from the oldest films by dr. Karol Grossmann from 1905 and 1906 until today. In the years 1986 and 1987 a monograph entitled "In the Kingdom ofFilm" was published, which presented the filmography ofthe oldest Slovene films until the end ofthe Second World War. Since then, the Slovene Film Archives at the Archives ofthe Republic of Slovenia, acquired films from the oldest period, which are described in this paper. We believe that theywill additionally help to portray the past and supplement the Slovene film history
