Description
In the quick silver mine at Idrija the modernization of the technique of digging and investigation of layers was begun around 1730. Because there were few surveyors to perform this task the director of the mine Steinberg helped to aducate new ones. Among them, Jožef Mrak, a native from Idrija, excelled himself and in 175'2 he even got a permission to teach geometry, goedesy and drawing at a course or at scholl. He also taught the same subjects at the next school, which was established in 1763. He educated a number of capable surveyors.
