Description

Photographs convey visual messages about the past, events, people, buildings and landscape. They are considered to be aparticularly vulnerable segment of cultural heritage due to the sensitivity of the materials of which they consist. It is thereforeall the more important that they are stored and handled properly.The article is based on the process of describing the condition of the photographs included in the personal fonds Julij Felaher(SI AS 1384) which is held in the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. Used for this purpose was a special form that, inaddition to basic information on photographs, also included a number of other data, such as information on the photographictechniques used, the type of medium, damages and the current state of preservation. The data acquired by means of thisprocess helped to protect these photographs, while recommendations on proper handling enabled their-long term preservation.

      • Fotografije so nosilke spomina vizualnih sporočil o dogodkih, ljudeh, zgradbah in pokrajinah. So tisti del kulturnedediščine, ki je ranljiv že zaradi občutljivosti materialov, zato je toliko bolj pomembna njihova pravilna uporaba in hramba.Predstavljeno delo temelji na materialnem popisu fotografij osebnega fonda Julij Felaher (SI AS 1384), ki ga hraniArhiv Republike Slovenije. Pri tem je bil uporabljen popisni obrazec, ki poleg osnovnih podatkov o fotografiji povzame tudivrsto fotografske tehnike, vrsto nosilca zapisa, vrsto poškodb in oceno stanja ohranjenosti. Na podlagi tako pridobljenihpodatkov je bila izpeljana materialna zaščita, ki omogoča trajno hrambo fotografij.

      • Bei der praktischen und theoretischen Behandlungdes Fotomaterials des persönlichen ArchivbestandsJulij Felaher wurden die folgenden Feststellungengemacht und Schlüsse gezogen:Die Fotos sind trotz ihrer in der Vergangenheitnicht entsprechenden Aufbewahrung zufriedenstellenderhalten. Der Anteil der stark beschädigtenFotos ist gering. Die Fotos waren meist verstaubtund hatten Flecke und Fingerabdrücke. Alle silbriggelatineartigenFotos wiesen eine silbrige Spiegelungauf. Das verwendete konservatorisch-restauratorischeInventarformular ist ein notwendiges undunausweichliches Hilfsmittel für eine vollständigeund genaue Übersicht über die Fotos, sowohl demInhalt als auch dem materiellen Zustand nach. Esermöglicht die ganzheitliche Organisation des materiellenSchutzes zur dauerhaften Aufbewahrung,aber auch die Planung aller konservatorisch-restauratorischenVerfahren.Die Elemente der konservatorisch-restauratorischenInventarisierung ergänzen die inhaltlichearchivarische Inventarisierung und bieten dem Archivar,vor allem aber dem Benutzer eine breitereund bessere Kenntnis der von den Fotos dokumentiertenInhalte.
