The article portrays the life of the Slovenian decorated soldier Anton Rode, who distinguished himself on the Romanian battlefield during the First World War but paid for his bravery with his life. According to the notice in the newspaper»Slovenec« the golden bravery medal was awarded to him posthumonsly. Based on that newspaper notice and the information that Anton Rode was originally from Rodica, one can’t help but wonder whether is perhaps somehow related to this brave soldier Cardinal France Rode.
