In 1623 Juri] Klobučar-Pileator, a priest from Maribor, kept sending to the government of inner Austria complaints against the Town Council of Maribor. In connection with this affair, a very interesting picture of the circumstances in the then Maribor, especially in the city hospital, has been revealed. The author also contributes to the historical knowledge about the above-mentioned institution, from its foundation to the 16th century, on the basis of some new sources provided by the Styrian Regional Archives in Graz.
