In the intruduction, the author presents the question of the plebiscite as it was depicted in professional works - the main emphasis being placed on those written in Slovene. He goes on with the presentation of the postwar administration on the territory of Slovenia in this period, which was incorporated in the newly established Yugoslav state. In greater detail, the author also presents the administrative organisation on the occupied territories of southern Carinthia up to the year 1920. In his article, the author focuses particularly on the presentation of the records on the Carinthian plebiscite kept mostly in Slovene archives and other institutions concerned with the protection of cultural heritage. Among these records, the most important is the fond of the National Council for Carinthia which had its seat in Velikovec, kept in the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia. This fond contains the most important documents for the study of the 1920 plebiscite in Carinthia. The fond of the District Board in Borovlje, kept in the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, is also important, while a number of other documents on the plebiscite are additionally preserved in the administrative fonds of the former Provincial Government for Slovenia, in personal and family fonds, as well as in a collection of posters, leaflets and calendars. The records on the plebiscite kept by the Institute for National Issues in Ljubljana are particularly important, as the Institute is the only institution in Slovenia, apart from the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, which keeps a larger number of records on this topic. Some fragments of records on the Carinthian plebiscite - mostly posters and leaflets, are also kept in other Slovene archives.
