When reactionary forces came to power, the State
Prosecution, introduced immediately after the Revolution
of 1848, was deprived of its numerous responsibilities
and competences but was not completely abolished. Its
responsibilites were restricted to penal proceedings only,
there, as well, its numerous tasks were taken away, some
for a longer and the other for a shorter period. The
importance, which the Revolution of 1848 placed on it,
was not achieved. A resumed rise of the State Prosecution
could be seen almost hundred years later with a
new revolution.
