In 2002-2003, the Historical Archives of Ljubljana acquired the Vodovod-Kanalizacija Ljubljana
fond. The most valuable materials in the fond are original plans for Ljubljana waterworks by Oskar
Smreker dating back to 1888. The whole project consists of 43 plans, including some recent additions
and copies, in the size of approximately 100 x 70 centimetres. Apart from Smreker's plans, there are
several other interesting items in the fond. This includes applications for water connection from 1890
to 1944, which offer insight into the introduction of indoor plumbing in the buildings of Carniola's
capital city. Over 30 coloured plans of old drains in different sizes are also very interesting. The
oldest of these plans, made in 1818, shows a drain running from Stari trg in the direction of St.
Florian 's church and Mestni trg. The plan lists the names of house owners and house numbers. The
fond also contains a complete collection of the weekly lists of water pumping at Kleče between 1890
and 1945.
