The National Government of the Kingdom of SHS in Ljubljana maintained the Austrian
organization of local district boards. In the first period the district board activities were affected by
the establishment of border with Italy and Austria. The Act on administration from 1922 and the
Regulation on the division of the country into administrative areas from the same year laid the
foundation for the new organization of districts. This organization was partially changed by the Act
on internal administration in 1929 together with the division into banovinas and by further
modifications.
