Description

Despite all the revolutionary changes in the last few decades in the field of information transfer, paper still proves more durable than electronic storage media. Since most information in the modern world is short-lived, there is also no needfor the information storage media and equipment to have a long lifespan. Durability only becomes significant when the content is valuable in terms of history and art. However, even paper is not eternal and falls victim to the aging process. This process can be either fast or slow, depending on:

  • The quality of raw materials for paper
  • The technology with which paper was manufactured
  • The use ofpaper and storage conditionsfor different types of written material.
