The article is a short survey of the results of the Target Research Project “Comparative study of the security system in the crisis situation with regard to refugee issues: the problem of Hungarian refugees in Slovenia after WWII and particularly in the years 1956 to 1957”, dealing with Hungarian refugee issues in Slovenia in the period, presented from a wider perspective. Within the international context and based on German, Austrian, Yugoslav and Slovene archives and literature, the study presents Yugoslav-Hungarian and Yugoslav-Soviet relations in the light of the 1956 Hungarian revolution and its impact in Slovenia and Yugoslavia. The emphasis is on the Hungarian refugee issues in Yugoslavia and Slovenia, particularly on the arrival of refugees to Yugoslavia, their settling in camps, along with the system and financing of the latter. Some 20.000 Hungarian refugees sought shelter in Yugoslavia, which is about one tenth of all refugees who left Hungarian after the suppression of the revolution. 2361 refugees were placed in camps in the territory of Slovenia. Apart from the archives, newspapers and other literature, the authors also made use of the method of in-depth interviews.

- Prispevek, ki je sicer kratek povzetek rezultata dela na ciljnem raziskovalnem projektu z naslovom “Primerjalno proučevanje delovanja varnostnega sistema v krizni situaciji z ozirom na begunsko problematiko: problematika madžarskih beguncev v Sloveniji po drugi svetovni vojni in zlasti v letih 1956–57”, obravnava madžarsko begunsko vprašanje na Slovenskem v omenjenem obdobju. Avtorji so madžarsko begunsko problematiko v Sloveniji prikazali v širšem kontekstu. Študija tako v okviru mednarodnega konteksta na podlagi nemških, avstrijskih, jugoslovanskih in slovenskih arhivskih dokumentov ter literature prikaže jugoslovansko-madžarske in jugoslovansko-sovjetske odnose v luči madžarske revolucije leta 1956 ter predstavi odmev madžarskih dogodkov v Sloveniji in Jugoslaviji. Osrednji del prispevka obravnava madžarsko begunsko problematiko v Jugoslaviji in Sloveniji. V tem sklopu prispevek posebej obravnava prihod beguncev v Jugoslavijo, njihovo nastanitev v taboriščih, ureditev in financiranje taborišč. V Jugoslaviji si je zatočišče poiskalo okoli 20.000 madžarskih beguncev oziroma desetina vseh beguncev, ki so po zatrtju revolucije zapustili Madžarsko. Od teh so oblasti v taborišča na območju Slovenije namestile 2.361 beguncev iz Madžarske. Pri prikazu begunske problematike v Sloveniji so avtorji poleg arhivskih virov, časopisne periodike in literature uporabili tudi metodo globinskih intervjujev.
