Description
The first volume of the Guidebook of the urbaria in the Archive of the Republic of Slovenia is being prepared. Its publication is planedfor 2005. It will include urbaria from the Urbaria Collection as well as urbaria from the seigniorial fonds. The Urbaria Collection is comprised of 192 books and is divided into four parts according to their size. This paper discusses the urbaria books in the approximate size of 30 x 20 cm. Urbaria in the Collection represent the standard book-bound archival material which is, from the material point of view, very similar to standard book material. That is why the method and results of the urbaria inventory can be helpful when preparing similar projects to determine the state of older book-bound material in all institutions where written heritage is stored. Making an inventory and examining the state of the Collection material should help us determine the degree ofconservation and accessibility, as well as the material usage conditions in the ARS reading room. The necessary conservation works on the damaged material can also be undertaken on the basis of this inventory.

      • V okviru projekta Vodnik po urbarjih Arhiva Republike Slovenije je v pripravi prvi zvezek Vodnika, ki naj bi izšel leta 2005. V njem bodo predstavljeni urbarji v Zbirki urbarjev in gospoščinskih fondih. Zbirka urbarjev obsega 192 knjig in se glede na format deli na štiri dele, od katerih je eden — tisti, ki zajema knjige formata okrog 30 x 20 cm (višina x širina) — predmet obravnave tega prispevka. Urbarji v Zbirki predstavljajo tipično arhivsko gradivo v knjižni obliki, ki se po materialni strani ne razlikuje od tipičnega knjižnega gradiva. Zato so način in rezultati popisa teh urbarjev lahko vpomočpri podobnih projektih evidentiranja stanja starejšega gradiva v obliki knjige v vseh ustanovah, kjer hranijo pisno dediščino. Popis in pregled stanja omenjenega dela Zbirke po materialni plati naj bi vodila k ugotovitvi stopnje ohranjenosti in s tem dostopnosti gradiva za uporabnike, k določitvi pogojev njegove uporabe v čitalnici in sprožitvi potrebnih konservatorskorestavratorskih posegov na poškodovanih knjigah.
