The authors of the paper discuss the leading professional magazine of the Archival Association of Slovenia and the Slovene archives. The first initiatives to start a professional magazine in this field appeared already in the late 1950's, and the goal was achieved in 1974, at the sixth meeting of Slovene archivists in Slovenj Gradec. After the initial problems had been solved, the first issue of the magazine was published in February 1979, covering the previous year. Originally, the magazine consisted mostly of papers presented at various archival meetings; later, however, it started to include other articles as well. Moreover, the magazine won recognition in professional circles despite occasional financial problems. Prior to 2000, a single double-issue was published every year, but later that was changed to two single issues per year.
