In October 1962, the first deliberations of the Archival Association of Slovenia took place in Novo
Mesto. General issues of the archival services in the country were discussed. The meeting concerned
the improvement of the material conditions and staff situation of the archives, local archives network,
organisational basis for the publication of the archive sources, publication of the history of the
administrative judicial system in Slovenia, action to determine and preserve the private archives,
Slovene Archives Guide and the acquisition of microfilms from Trieste. This paper discusses how the
findings and conclusions of the deliberations were carried out and how they affected the development
of the archive service in Slovenia.

- V Novem mestu je bilo oktobra 1962 prvo posvetovanje Arhivskega društva Slovenije. Na njem so obravnavali splošne probleme arhivske službe v republiki. Šlo je za izboljšanje materialnih in kadrovskih pogojev arhivov, arhivsko mrežo lokalnih arhivov, organizacijsko podlago za objavljanje arhivskih virov, objavo zgodovine upravno-sodne ureditve na Slovenskem, akcijo za ugotovitev in ohranitev t. i. zasebnih arhivov, Vodnik po slovenskih arhivih ter za dobavo mikrofilmov iz Trsta. Prispevek obravnava, kako so se ugotovitve in sklepi tega posvetovanja realizirali ter kako so vplivali na razvoj arhivske službe v republiki.
