The guidelines for determining the time limits for keeping the documentary material, have been prepared by the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia, on the basis of the Regulation on administrative operation. The guidelines include the basic elements for the integral determination of the time limits for keeping the documentary material; for determining the archival material of a significant and lasting value for science and culture, as well as the durable legal interest of the legal and natural persons; for determining the durable documentary material which has to be kept permanently by the administrative authorities themselves, unless that material has a character of archival material and the basis for stating the concrete time limits for keeping the documentary material expressed in the number ofyears of keeping. The guidelines also comprise an annex, stating the regulated obligatory framework classification plan for sorting the documents of the public administration agencies by contents, including the concrete time limits for keeping.
