Description
By using archive sources of the Graz archives Močnik's work on his Graz dissertation is described for the first time. Močnik is presented as the most important mathematical textbook writer from Slovenian Lands and even of all Habsburg Monarchy. The time and events that enabled Močnik's success are researched. Lives and published works of Močnik's Graz professors are presented and their connections with Močnik's Gorica "mentor" Augustin Cauchy are claimed. At the end, a somewhat sad story of Močnik's family tomb at Graz cemetery is described.

      • Z uporabo graškega arhivskega gradiva prvi podrobneje opisujemo doktorat Franca Močnika, našega najpomembnejšega pisca matematičnih učbenikov, morda celo enega najpomembnejših v vsej habsburški monarhiji. Podajamo časovni okvir in okoliščine ob Močnikovi disertaciji. Raziskujemo poklicne poti in razmeroma številna objavljena dela Močnikovih graških profesorjev in skušamo nakazati njihove povezave z Močnikovim goriškim "mentorjem" Augustinom Cauchyjem. Končno pripovedujemo še razmeroma žalostno usodo Močnikovega družinskega groba na graškem pokopališču.
