LL.D. Herbert (Heribet, Hugo, Bert) Kartin came from a wealthy market town family. He had finished Law and was employed as a civil servant. He was the lover and collector of works of art and antiques. As the creator and the owner of the archival material he is above all important because of his accurateness and consistency, for he had preserved each and every document, no matter whether it was considered banal, like the "obdohon ". Unfortunatelly, only part (in my opinion) of his abundant written legacy found its place in the Historical Archives of Celje and even that was taken over in absolutely scattered state.
