Description

The author presents in the article the beginnings of the implementation of digital computers and the development of computer centres with centralised data processing in the region on which the Regional Archives Maribor has professional competence. First activities on this field go back to the middle of the fifties of 20. century with the establishing of the computer centre in the Tovarna avtomobilov Maribor (The car factory Maribor). Afterwards were developed several more of them in Maribor, Murska Sobota, Radenci and Ravne na Koroškem. Almost all of them were reorganised in the process of downsizing or replaced with the information systems based on the powerful personal and other computers connected in the networks in the beginnings of nineties. Some of them were also destroyed in the process ofeconomic crisis in Slovenia.

      • Avtor v prispevku predstavi začetke uvajanja izgradnje informacijskih sistemov s centralizirano obdelavo podatkov, ki sega v sredino petdesetih let 20. stol. na pristojnem območju Pokrajinskega arhiva Maribor. Prvi tovrstni center so zgradili v Tovarni avtomobilov Maribor, pozneje pa jih je bilo razvitih še nekaj tako v Mariboru kot tudi v Murski Soboti, Radencih ter v Ravnah na Koroškem. Omenjene računalniške centre so v veliki meri v procesu "downsìzinga" od začetka devetdesetih let zamenjali informacijski sistemi, ki so temeljili na povezanih osebnih in drugih zmogljivih računalnikih v lokalna računalniška omrežja. Mnogi izmed njih pa so v procesu gospodarske krize tudi popolnoma propadli.
