Description

During the government of count Eduard Taaffe (1879-1893) Slovenes in Styria attained exceptional cultural, economic and political headway. Manysided Slovene development had an impact upon the ever greater radicalisation of the German party and upon inter-ethnic relations becoming ever more acute. At the end of count Eduard Taaffe's rule, German-Slovene relations were extremely tense, escalating during the following years into incidents (the struggle for the Celje Gymanisum, Badenic linguistic orders).

      • V času vlade grofa Eduarda Taaffeja (1879-1893) so tudi Slovenci na Štajerskem dosegli izjemen kulturni, gospodarski in politični napredek. Vsestranski slovenski razvoj je vplival na vedno večjo radikalizacijo nemške stranke in na hitro zaostrovanje mednacionalnih odnosov. Ob koncu vlade grofa Eduarda Taaffeja so bili nemško-slovenski odnosi izjemno napeti, v naslednjih letih (boj za celjsko gimnazijo, Badenijeve jezikovne naredbe) pa so eskalirali do ekscesov.
