Časopis za zgodovino in narodopisje

The authoress, in her contribution, deals with the history of the Trans- Mura Jews between the middle of the XIX century and their mass confinement in 1944. Murska Sobota and Lendava Jews had, through centuries, radically intervened in the social structure of their townships. By the knocking down of the Murska Sobota synagogue in 1954 the existence of their culture on Slovenian soil has been almost brought to an end.
