Description

In the Inter-War period, the care for the promotion of the French and of the English language, as well as of the French and the English Culture was underakten by the French Circle and by the Society of Friends of the English Language and Education. They were led by enthusiasts from the Slovenian middle classes, along with those knowledgeable in the two languages. By way of lectures, cultural events, and particularly by way of the reading room, knowledge on the French, viz. English culture was disseminated and thereby the former forced predominance of the German culture was diminished.

Z jezikovnimi tečaji, predavanji, kulturnimi prireditvami, zlasti pa s knjižnico in čitalnico so širili vednost o francoski in angleški kulturi in s tem zmanjševali dotlej vsiljeno prevlado nemške kulture.
