In this article the author considers the origin and the extent of the real-estate of the Vovberg counts and in connection with this he also considers some other questions pertaining to the history of the Šaleška valley of the 12th and 13th century. He has found that the Vovbergs became owners of the estate in the Šaleška valley in the second half of the 13lh century. At that time they systematically began to make their position in the Šaleška and Savinja valleys stronger. Until the second half of the 13th century in the Šaleška valley a number of smaller, free or ministerial noble extended families had existed.
