Description
The author has established that the Slavonic Reading Society, the national,
cultural and social meeting-place of the Slovenes of Maribor, changed its
modest premises eleven times. This is one of the reasons why it failed to
build up a good library although it did have a reading room with newspapers
and magazines at all times.

- Avtor ugotavlja, da je Slovanska čitalnica, nacionalno, kulturno in družabno zbirališče Slovencev v Mariboru, enajstkrat menjala skromne društvene prostore. Tudi zato ni razvila dobre knjižnice. Imela pa je vseskozi bralnico časnikov in časopisov.
