the first one in 1890 up to the one in 1914, basing his work on the reports
in the archives and in the newspapers. On the bases of the reports made
by the chief officers of administrative districts to the state representation
in Graz, it is possible to follow the number of employees in most of the
industrial plants in Styria, as well as the number of workers, that participated
to the May Day celebrations. The newspaper reports complete this
data with the political and social issues dealt with at the celebrations.
