Description
The author describes the celebrations of May Day in Slovene Styria, from the first one in 1890 up to the one in 1914, basing his work on the reports in the archives and in the newspapers. On the bases of the reports made by the chief officers of administrative districts to the state representation in Graz, it is possible to follow the number of employees in most of the industrial plants in Styria, as well as the number of workers, that participated to the May Day celebrations. The newspaper reports complete this data with the political and social issues dealt with at the celebrations.

      • Avtor na podlagi arhivskih in časopisnih poročil daje sliko praznovanj 1. maja na slovenskem Štajerskem v času od prvega praznovanja 1. maja 1890 do leta 1914. Na podlagi poročil okrajnih glavarjev državnemu namestništvu v Gradcu je mogoče slediti številu zaposlenih v precejšnjem delu industrijskih obratov na Štajerskem in številu delavstva, ki se je udeležilo prvomajskih proslav. Časopisna poročila te podatke dopolnjujejo s politično in socialno problematiko, ki je bila obravnavana na teh praznovanjih.
