The paper talks about the archival material of the Federal Committee for the organization of the transfer of the remains of fallen fighters, which was established on november 24, 1945 at the Ministry of the interior of the People’s Republic of Slovenia. The tasks of the committee were: collection of requests for the transfer of remains of persons killed in war, collection of lists of individual or group graves, provision of financial resources and transport of remains or other tasks related to the organization of burials. The Federal Committee and the network of committees subordinate to it, which were established at lower administrative levels, formally functioned until their abolition at the end of 1948. The archive material of the Committee was handed over to the Secretariat for internal affairs of the Socialist Republic of Slovenia on December 27, 1967, and in 2022 professionally processed in the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia.
