Description
The article deals with the history of the state administrative bodies in the field of culture from 1945 to the present. Until the mid-1970s, culture had no independent department (predominantly, it was associated with the field of education). Except for a few short intervals, it had its department from that time. Archive materials of all legal predecessors of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, operating from 1945 to 1991, have already been acquired by the competent archive. Appraisal of archival materials from the 1990s is currently underway.
