The great textile strike of 1936 was one of the most important events of the Slovenian workers’ movement during the interwar period. In Kranj, where the strike began, this event was emphasized particularly in the post-Second World War period, due to the fact that it was considered a predecessor of the partisan movement. To remember the strike, a number of commemorations were held and a few memorials were erected. They are presented in this article. A part of these memorials, particularly memorial plaques, are lost today. Even though a few monuments across the town still maintain the memory of the strike, it is generally forgotten in public.
