In 2014, a card which the parishioners of Kranj parish gifted to the newly ordained Bishop Jernej Vidmar in 1860 was found in Archdiocesan Archives in Ljubljana. The front of the card is inlaid with a glass photograph showing the main square of Kranj. As the oldest photograph in the Archdiocesan Archive Ljubljana and the oldest known photographic depiction of Kranj, it attracted a great deal of researchers‘ attention, particularly since the author could be Janez Puhar (Johann Pucher). A group of researchers from various fields have been conducting an interdisciplinary research in the following years. The author of the photograph cannot be determined from the card content, origin context, archives or literature.
