The article presents the problem concerning the construction of school infrastructure in socialism. After the end of the Second World War, the first priority was to rebuild demolished school buildings. The increasing number of population also entailed their growing needs. One of the ways in which these manifested was overcrowded and ill-equipped schools. Due to lack of funds, such needs were particularly hard to address in rural areas. With the reorganization of the school network, the education reform also had an impact on new school infrastructure. Local communities invested enormous efforts in building new school facilities, with financial contributions from individuals, local community, companies, and the municipality.
