Description
The contribution presents the baroque and classicist interior fitting of Brdo from the ownership of the Zois barons in the second half of the 18th century to 1929. In continuation, archival documented interiors of the Yugoslav prince Pavel Karađorđević from 1935 to 19421 are dealt with. There are no data on castle interior for the time of German occupation during World War II. In 1947, Brdo was nationalised and as residence of Josip Broz Tito equipped with fittings of different style periods. After his death, the castle became a protocol edifice of the Slovene government, and preserved that function in the independent Republic of Slovenia as well.
