The author limits his article to the description of activity of former Germannationalistic Austrian society »Südmark« after the period beginning with the year 1920. This is the society which took care of the economia field of the building of the German »bridge to the Adriatic«. In this period it was mainly active in the Slovene Styria region, after the fall of the Habsburg monarchy and after the plebiscite in Carinthia in 1920 its activity was transferred to the Slovene and linguistically mixed area of the Austrian Carinthia. In 1925 the »Südmark« joined with the »Deutscher Schulverein« in a common organization »Deutscher Schulverein Südmark«. The article is also concerned with the activity of this organization.
