The former cameral estates and estates of the Slssoloved monasteries were governed by the administration of state estates in Graz during the period when there was no regional administration in Carniola. With the reestablishment of the provincial administration in 1791 there was also established a special office for state estates under the supervision of the governor general of the province. It began its activity in spring 1792. The motives for its establishment, mainly bad management of the estates, are presented in this article as well as its inner organization.
