The author reviews the first symposium on Slovene local history which was held at Domžale on 19—20 May 1977. The symposium was organized by a section for Slovene local history of the Historical Association of Slovenia, and at the same time a celebration was held which marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the publication of Kronika, a review for Slovene local history. The symposium was oriented, on one side, to discussions of the historical development of the Domžale region from the pre-historic times to the present. A special stress was laid on the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the people’s front meeting at Tabor near Ihan. The second half of the symposium stressed questions concerning the general methodology of discussions of local history. Finally, the author quotes conclusions made at this symposium, which denote useful instructions for forther work.
