In spite of the fact that the investigation of the National Liberation War in various regions regarding its territorial functions has been much less intensive than studies on military events, or rather, on troops of the National Liberation Army and Partisan Detachments of Slovenia, quite a lot has been done in this field too, and primarily, a lot of material has been collected. The reason for this limited scope of investigations lies in the fact that the problems of presentation of the National Liberation War in individual territories are more varied and more demanding. A number of contributions from this field have already been published, and among them there are some of high quality. Generally speaking it is true that basic defects of contributions referring to local history of the National Liberation War are the following: in several cases the authors have paid too small attention to a critical examination of sources; the problems are dealt with rather irregularly and not in their totality; many times the texts are not organized well enough and they are not systematic.
