People’s rule began to develop already at the time of the National Liberation Struggle with the formation and the activity of The Liberation Front committees and the elected National Liberation Committees. The City Committee of The Liberation Front of Jesenice which on the 10th of May 1945 took over the business and the office of the pre-war community met with great problems at the very beginning. The town was destroyed by bomb attacks. By the end of the year 1945 the inhabitants of Jesenice managed, by means of voluntary work to provisionally repair waterworks, canalization, electric installation as well as to regulate some torrents. Another burning question was the supply of food, clothes, footwear, fuel, and lodgings for the town.
