On the basis of archives the author deals with the attack of Bosnian deserters on the monastery of Kostanjevica on the 29th of July 1736. There is a fresco above the entrance to the monastery, painted by Fr. Jelovšek, which recalls this attack. In the robbery, which was led by Hasan Bisić, at least 30 deserters from near the river Glina took part, and two monks were killed, and material damage about 3000 florins was caused. The robbers had previously intended to rob the Jesuit residence Pleterje, but later gave up their intention because of numerous guards, and returned through Bela Krajina. It took a few years before small groups belonging to the band were caught by the frontierguards of the Military frontier.
