The problem of the agrarian reform was one of the most complicated problems the new Yugoslav state started to solve in 1918. With exception of Prekmurje in Slovenia predominated the forest vast estates which the reform did not intend to leave to the individual owners. The problem of the ownership of the forests of the princes of Auersperg was solved in the decade before the collapse of the Yugoslav Monarchy by taking them over by the so called Temporal State Administration of the Expropriated Vast Estate Forests (TSA). The author describes the efforts of the owners — princes of Auersperg to keep the vast estate. Due to their negative relation towards the Slovenes as well as towards the new Yugoslav state the princes did not find any understandig and support by neither political party. Even more, the agrarian reform had been more consequently implemented right on their vast estate, though they were still left 5000 ha from 25.000 ha — which is more than the law permitted.
