The paper deals with the development, between 1935 and 1941, of the progressive working-class, peasant, and secondary-school young people both in the Catholic and Liberal spheres; in the first place it discusses their differentiation and polarization as regards their relationship and viewpoint towards the popular front movement. Special emphasis is laid upon the linking role of the Communist youth, that is, on the basis of the uniform programme and actions and not uniform ideology. The author stresses the role and importance of the Youthful Liberation Front (MOF) as the basic phase in uniting the Slovene youth, mostly from the ranks of the Christian-socialists, the »Sokols« and the Communist; in the course of the National Liberation Movement they grew into a uniform anti-fascist organization called the League of Slovene Youth.
