The author discusses business relations between Slovenia and Austria in the years 1918—1919 and arrives at a conclusion that the exchange grew quite extensive at the time of strained political relations and the battle for northern border. Slovenia mostly provided Austria with food while Austria sent technical equipment necessary for an uninterrupted functioning of Slovene industry. The author wrote the present article for the almanac Kärnten-Volksabstimmung 192'0 which was published in 1981 by the Locker Publishing Co. in Vienna. So far it has not been published in Slovene.
