In his article the author calls attention to the fact that in the place of the present-day castle Brdo near Kranj already in 1446 a provincial manor was mentioned. Its owners, the noble Eggs (in Slovene "from Brdo” or “of Brdo") were loyal servants of the Habsburgs; at the beginning of the 16th century they set up a new castle not far from the old manor. The author describes their coat-of-arms and mentions the still preserved seal.
