Description
In 1804 the state built in Hrastnik, where it had coal-mines, a glass-factory to produce glassware primarily for the needs of its mercury mines in Idrija. On account of unsuccessful operating the glass-factory and coal-mines were in 1817 sold. When in 1843 a new mining company took over both, it shut the glass-factory down and conversed in into a zinc-factory. In 1861 it built a technically improved glass-factory, which was — together with the coal-mines — in 1880 bought by the Trbovlje Minning company. In 1912 the glass-factory was leased to Viljem Abel and Heirs company, the owner of the glass-factory in Hrastnik. The glass-factory in Zagorje operated until 1928.
