The composer and doctor, Dr. Josip Ipavic (1873-1921) composed his largest score, the opera Princess Coquette (Prinzess Tollkopf) between 1905-1910. The libretto for his opera was written by a contemporary writer, Mara von Berks, but the opera never appeared on stage, although Ipavic's music was highly praised by Leoš Janaček, Alexander Zemlinsky, Wilhelm Kienzl and Oskar Nedbal, because the librettist used scandalous dramaturgy which, in composition, followed the example of the novel La Tentation de Saint Antoine by Gustave Flaubert.
