Senožeče, being an important crossing point on the way from Middle Europe and its sea, was thriving almost hand in hand with the development and consolidation of the Habsburg empire. Yet, this situation was abruptly brought to an end due to the change of traffic after the Industrial Revolution and the turn that took demagraphic trends in mid-19th century. The article sets off to depict the consequences of such development according to the movements and structure of the inhabitants, which are to be found in church registers, however, the research is by no means complete for all the existing sources are not yet explored.
