The article deals with the development of the Kranj factory of Iskra in the first post-World War II. years and in the first term of Self-management — from the summer of 1950 to the early spring of 1952. The emphasis is given to the description of the internal difficulties and problems, being determined by the mere organization of the factory, by its production, and, the then stage in the development of the Yugoslav society. The management of the factory, the council of administration and the worker’s council encountered them with variable success. The first part of the article is mostly based on literature, and the second one on the source materials from the Historical Record Office of Ljubljana.
