Description

The author has described on the basis of archival and newspaper material and literature events inthe Novo mesto district in the years 1929-1941. In the introduction the size, the number of populationand the administrative regulation of the district are presented. After that the attention is dedicated to thefactional cultural-educational and peasantry movement in the middle-class and particularly tocommunal and assembly elections. In the years 1931 and 1935 tlle SLS party abstained from them, whichis partly valid for the 1933 communal elections as well. During the regime of the jugoslovanska radikalna zajednica - JRZ (Yugoslav Radical Community) the Slovene part of the JRZ persuasively won the 1935-1938 communal elections and the 1938 assembly elections.

      • Avtorica je na osnovi arhivskega in časopimega gradiva ter literature orisala dogajanje v novomeškemokraju v letih 1929-1941. Uvodoma je prikazan obseg, številčno stanje prebivalstva in upravna ureditevokraja. Nato je pozornost posvečena strankarskemu, kulturno-prosvetnemu in kmečko-stanovskemugibanju v meščanskem taboru, posebej še občinskim in skupščinskim volitvam. V letih 1931 in 1935 jih jeSLS abstinirala kar velja, deloma tudi za občinske volitve 1933. V času vladavine jugoslovanske radikalne zajednice pa je tako na občinskih volitvah v letih 1935-1938 kot na skupščinskih leta 1938 prepričljivozmagal slovenski del JRZ.
