Description
The article is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first public library at Ptuj. Mainly it deals with the destiny of the book fund, which
was given to the city by the historian and archeologist Franc Ferk at
the beginning of the century and which represents the basis for todays
Public and studious Library. For decades the circumstances were not
favourable to this donation and even today the position of the Public
and studious Library isnt as good as the experts would like to be.
