Description
At the beginning of the article, the author stresses the significance of roads for the economic development of an area. Further on, the article deals with the problems that occurred by roadsides and on roads in connection with construction activities and maintenance, as well as the dangers to which the travellers and hauliers were exposed in the first half of the 19th century. The author gives a slightly more detailed description ofthe problems encountered in the Slovenj Gradec valley
